A couple of rusty addition

The picture on the left is similar to one I recently posted but there is an addition. The clay pot holding an Epimedium (sp?) was broken. I got this squashed metal bucket from Creative Gardener and replanted the Epimeidum in it. I really like how it looks. The addition to the pic below is in the lower right hand corner. I don't know what it is suppose to be but it looked so interesting all rolled up, I just had to have it. This is probably a temporary spot, but I do enjoy seeing it. Unrolled it is about 8' long and 6" wide. All the little metal pieces are strung on wire. Also from my friends at Creative Gardener.

Rust Rearranged

It was nice today to spend some comfortable time (cooler than usual) in the garden. I had been thinking some things needed rearranging, so today was the day. I acquired a new plant holder at Tattered House; it actually was an old water cooler holder, I think. I have several of them and they work really good for holding plants and offering some height.

Old Wicker

These are old photos I've collected showing old wicker. It was so beautiful. Even the little bicycle is wicker.

a few garden shots

The duck decoys have been tethered in the creek for probably ten years. The cans are gathered on an old cart. I love these bits of old turquoise fencing I got from Creative Gardener.

More from Spit & Polish

Here are some more pics from Spit & Polish in Williams OR. They also have more traditional antiques, but they have the best good metal junk.

Back Home

Well it has been quite busy the last couple of weeks. First there was the demolition and then building the new deck and trying to get it finished before leaving to visit family in another state. On the way, we stopped at Spit and Polish which Sandy and Erika at Tattered House had visited and told me about. It was totally scorching when we were there so we didn't stay as long as I would have liked - but it was fun. I got the metal tray and have already used it to sort things ( sorry, the pic turned the wrong way).
The buoy was a gift from family who found it in their yard. I love it. It is about 8-9 inches in diameter.
Finally, in celebration of being home, I included the pic of the hydrangas. They were beginning to turn and I couldn't resist cutting them. They are so pretty in all the various shades.
