As I was stepping through mud puddles, dodging things being blow out of the tree and getting drenched today to go out and check the yard, I was reminded of the above family story. It was published in an old Kansas newspaper and I have shortened it here. I guess I'm just not as hardy as my ancestors. There are so many stories of their adventures and really scary situations they frequently handled. Maybe it is just that they just had different challenges than ours in current times.

Sad but kinda funny too(-:
So many of our ancestors had to brave much worse to live back in the old days!
The Donner Party comes to mind. Yikes!
Mud seems pretty mild compared to that.
